Events have taken place across the West of England to mark Armistice Day. Offices, schools and supermarkets observed a two-minute silence at 11:00 GMT to mark the time and date when the World War One armistice came into effect.

Scotland has fallen silent to honour those who have died in conflicts around the world on Armistice Day. The traditional 11 November two-minute period of remembrance took place at 11:00 on across the country. The day is commemorated every year to mark the signing of the armistice between the Allies and Germany in 1918.

People from across the borough observed a two-minute silence to mark Armistice Day outside Blackburn Town Hall. Services commemorating Remembrance Sunday were held over the weekend in Blackburn and Darwen to remember those in our armed forces who have fallen in past and current wars.
