Events have taken place across the West of England to mark Armistice Day. Offices, schools and supermarkets observed a two-minute silence at 11:00 GMT to mark the time and date when the World War One armistice came into effect.

Scotland will fall silent to honour those who have died in conflicts around the world on Armistice Day. The traditional two-minute period of remembrance will take place at 11:00 on 11 November across the country. The day is commemorated every year at 11:00 to mark the signing of the armistice between the Allies and Germany in 1918.
